Mark S. Knauer, 54, of Dunham Road died Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the home of his sister in Averill Park after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of Dorothy Strope Knauer of Wynantskill and  the late Lawrence J. Knauer. He had resided in Troy many years and the past 15 years in Grafton and was a graduate of Troy High School and attended Paul Smith’s College in Paul Smith’s, NY.
Mark was a machinist for Philips Healthcare in Latham for 18 years.
He was an avid hiker, doing all 46 high peaks, a fisherman, skier and enjoyed travel.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his siblings, Wendy (John) Nolan, Wynantskill, Susan (Walter) Mateer, Averill Park, Virginia Larsen, Durango, CO, Lawrence (Catherine) Knauer Jr., Wynantskill, Dennis (Rosemarie) Knauer, Wynantskill and Nancy Osborne, Wynantskill and several nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister, Gail Laplante.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 11-2 PM with a service to follow at 2 PM with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating.
